Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday said that the by-elections have provided a good opportunity to the people to teach a fitting lesson to corrupt and those who indulged in irregularities.

Addressing a by-election rally at Swarnaandhra Engineering College at Seetharapuram in Narsapuram mandal in West Godavari district, Kiran Kumar Reddy called upon the voters to teach a fitting lesson to the corrupt leaders in the ensuing by-elections. He said that the Congress party would take serious action against all those leaders who expressed solidarity with the YSR Congress party. Stating that the party was seriously watching the movement of leaders and their statements, the Chief Minister said, “The party is taking all measures to prevent such anti-party activities and will initiate serious action against them at an appropriate time”.

Kiran Kumar Reddy also criticized Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for trying to cover up his mistakes in the by-elections.

Stating that the government was making efforts to tide over the power problem within six months, the Chief Minister said that the power problem would be totally resolved if the power projects at Kakinada and Gangavaram start functioning. He said that he has appealed to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to intervene in this issue and help the State over power crisis.
