Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Monday assured the Telangana Congress members that he would take a decision on Telangana state soon after discussing it in the core committee meeting.

The Prime Minister made this statement when a delegation of Telangana Congress met him at his residence on Monday.

Talking to media persons, Major Industries Minister J Geetha Reddy stated that the PM gave a patient hearing to Telangana leaders and assured to take a decision after discussing it in the core committee meeting and with congress president Sonia Gandhi.

She said that the Telangana leaders have appealed to PM to take a decision on statehood issue early putting an end to this uncertainty, and the situation in the Telangana region has been informed to the Prime Minister.

She said the farmers problems in the Telangana region, grave power situation and salaries for employees who participated in the general strike have been brought to Prime Minister’s notice.

BC Welfare Minister Basavaraj Saraiah said that people are ready to commit suicides if the problem was not addressed soon.

The Prime Minister asked the delegation to list out all their problems in the region.

The delegation consists of 18 members including MPs V Hanumantha Rao, G Vivek, Madhu yashki Goud and minister’s D K Aruna, Sunitha Lakshma reddy and others.
