Help flood victims with humanity: TDP

Hyderabad, Oct 5 :

 To help the flood hit victims in Kurnool, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Krishna and Guntur districts, the Opposition and Telugu Desam Party leader N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday called upon families, business houses and NGOs to donate clothes, food items and blankets.

Talking to media persons here, the Opposition leader said that that unity and brotherhood will help humanity overcome all sorts of troubles. He urged the Centre to declare the flood fury in state as national calamity and extend all help for the state liberally to take up relief operations.

He said the Tdp would form to teams of committed social development workers and volunteers for delivering relief material to the flood victims. The teams would coordinate the relief work and fundraising in the flood affected districts.

The teams would support flood victims in rehabilitation and reconstruction works. He said that the NTR Trust would conduct health camps to prevent water-borne and contagious diseases in flood areas and distribute medicines free of cost to flood victims. Many MLAs and party leaders donated cheques and materials to take up relief operations in flood hit districts.
