Congress Mla Muthyam Reddy on Tuesday raised serious objections over Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram’s call to garland photos with slippers of those MLAs who failed to resign for the cause of Telangana.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, Muthyam Reddy alleged that the TPJAC and Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders have been insulting the elected representatives of Telangana region by giving call to garland their photos with slippers and resorting to physical attacks on leaders.

Stating that he was ready to submit his resignation for the cause of statehood, he put some conditions before TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao. He asked KCR to assure that his party would not contest the by-elections and all Telangana leaders to continue the agitation without holding any political posts. “After resignations, we should not go for by-elections and fight for achieving statehood for Telangana region,” he stated.

Stating that Telangana state formation was possible with resignations and by creating constitutional crisis, he asked elected representatives to submit resignations en masse instead of individual basis.

Slamming KCR’s family members of occupying political posts in the name of Telangana, he asked them to give up their posts immediately and work collectively with leaders of all political parties for Telangana. “If KCR and his family members can enjoy the posts in the name of Telangana; then why others cannot do the same?” he questioned?’

Muthyam also suggested KCR to speak on Telangana in New Delhi instead Hyderabad to draw the attention of national level leaders and other political parties.

Condemning the attitude of KCR, another MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy said “We are accountable to the people of Telangana and not to the TRS or KCR.”
