Twenty six out of 29 MLAs, who switched loyalties to YSR Congress party, met the Speaker Nadendla Manohar at his chambers on Monday and appealed him to accept their resignations.

The MLAs under the leadership of former minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose told the Speaker that they resigned from the assembly membership in protest against the inclusion of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s name in the CBI’s FIR in Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case. Later, talking to media Bose said that the Speaker assured them that he would soon take a decision on the resignations after due verification. He said the MLAs were firm on their decision for acceptance of resignations and there was no change in their stand.

Bose said that the MLAs would meet the Governor ESL Narasimhan at 10 am on Tuesday and prevail upon him to direct the state government to file counter petition for removal of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s name from the CBI’s FIR.

When the reporters asked Telangana Congress MLA Konda Surekha about her meeting with Speaker, Surekha said that she wanted to know why the Speaker rejected her resignation.

Sources say that Konda Surekha might submit her resignation afresh on September 13 for the cause of Telangana. She demanded Central Bureau of Investigation probe against Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana and Cabinet Ministers for corruption allegation against them.

Meanwhile Secunderabad MLA Jayasudha and MLA K Satyavathi are also planning to submit resignations afresh for the cause of Telangana state, while maintaining their loyalties towards YSR Congress party.
