Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader T Harish Rao on Friday alleged that the state government has not even released a single paisa for the Telangana from the funds released by the 13th Finance Commission to provide drinking water facility for Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to media persons at TRS Bhavan, the TRS MLA stated that the state government has displayed its bias against Telangana and did a major injustice to the region by allotting the entire sum of Rs 353 crore for the Seemandhra regions.

Mr Harish Rao said that the government has seemingly forgotten that Telangana was still part of Andhra Pradesh and had allotted funds for providing drinking water facilities to only to Seemandhra regions.

The TRS leader also turned his ire towards Panchayat Raj and Rural Water Supply Minister K Jana Reddy and alleged that the Minister had not raised his voice even as the funds meant for providing drinking water facilities for the entire state were released only for Seemandhra regions. “It is shocking that Mr Jana Reddy kept mum on the issue even though hails from Telangana,” Mr Harish Rao stated.

He demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy withdraw the orders issued in this connection within a week.

“If the orders are not withdrawn, the TRS would launch an agitation against the state government until it does justice to Telangana people,” Mr Harish Rao warned.

He also warned that the TRS would picket the Secretariat if the government fails to withdraw its orders.
