The Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) students on Wednesday threatened to picket the Chief Minister’s Camp Office on May 26, if the government goes ahead with its decisions to recruit Sub-Inspectors in the police department before resolving the contentious Free Zone issue.

The OUJAC leaders, after submitting a memorandum to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in this connection at his Camp Office, stated that they would not allow the state government to conduct the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors without deleting Clause (F) of Para 14 the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Order, 1975. The state Assembly has already passed a resolution on this issue.
