Jagan quit since Congress did not implement YSR's schemes: Ambati

Loyalist of Ysr Congress Party Ambati Rambabu on Tuesday stated that former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy quit the Congress party in order to fulfill the aspirations of his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Talking to media persons at Kothakota, Ambati stated that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy parted ways with the Congress since the party, despite being in power, failed to implement the schemes launched by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy ‘in letter and spirit’.

“However, the Congress leaders are trying to make people believe that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy was frustrated at not getting the Chief Minister’s post after YSR’s demise. This is not true, the reason behind Mr Jaganmohan Reddy leaving the Congress is only due to its negligent attitude towards implementing YSR’s schemes,” the suspended PCC secretary said.

He added, “The Congress leaders are resorting to a vilification campaign against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and making baseless charges against him.”

Mr Rambabu further expressed confidence that the Ysr Congress Party candidates YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Y S Vijaya Lakshmi would defeat Congress candidates in the by-elections of Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly segments.

He said the Ysr Congress Party will announce the party agenda and the principles it will follow at a massive public meeting to be held on May 13 at YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya. Mr Rambabu further added that the party will announce its stand on Telangana statehood issue after the outcome of by-election results.
