Wrong signals by Governor, CM delaying T state: Vivek

Congress Mp G Vivek on Sunday said that the ‘wrong signals’ sent by Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to the Centre on the Telangana statehood struggle was the primary reason for the delay in bifurcating Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing media persons after expressing solidarity with farmers who are participating in the ‘Maha Deeksha’ at Indira Park to press the Centre to introduce a separate Telangana Bill in Parliament, Mr Vivek said that the MPs from the region are ready to sacrifice their posts for a separate state.

The MP said that the Centre must take an early decision on the Telangana statehood demand and stand by the statement made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009. Separately, Telangana Telugu Desam Forum convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy told the farmers that the people of the region would hold all political leaders guilty if they did not make collective efforts to ensure that Telangana state is created.

“All leaders, cutting across party lines, should make concerted efforts towards formation of Telangana state by mounting pressure on the Centre,” Mr Janardhan Reddy asserted. “This is the perhaps the last push towards the Telangana state formation. If we do not mount adequate pressure on the Centre, we may not get Telangana later” the senior TDP leader stated.
