The Telangana Joint Action Committee employees resuming their duties had a salutary effect on the state Assembly on Saturday as it conducted normal business proceedings with no disruption from any side.

For the first time, the Assembly during the ongoing Budget Session transacted the listed agenda.

For the second consecutive day, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was conspicuous by his absence from the House, though Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was present for a while.

The Telangana impasse still continued to haunt the Congress Members from Telangana region who boycotted the session today also. However, two Congress MLAs from the Telangana region did attend the Session and participated in the discussion on the supply of water during Zero Hour.

In contrast, the Legislators from Seemandhra regions attended. The House witnessed peaceful environs though the attendance of the Members was thin.

The agitated Legislators had paralysed the House for nearly 14 days on the demand for creation of Telangana state and for two days on the unified state demand, raised by Telugu Desam Party MLAs from Seemandhra regions.

However, the situation may nor remain the same after TDP MLAs from Telangana made it clear that they would be attending the Sessions from Monday onwards.
