Telugu Desam Party MLAs Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao and Pattipati Pulla Rao on Tuesday criticized the Centre for the inordinate delay in taking a decision on the bifurcation of the state.

Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, the leaders said that the inordinate delay in announcing the decision by the Centre would send a wrong message among the people of Seemandhra regions.

The MLAs said they would intensify their agitation for integration of state by convening a meeting on March 3. “The meeting will take a decision on the future course of agitation to be adopted keeping the state integrated,” they pointed out.

The meeting of Seemandhra leaders assumes importance in the wake of Centre assurance to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao that it would take a decision on Telangana after March 1.

The TDP leaders demanded that the Centre make an announcement on keeping the state integrated based on the recommendations of Justice Srikrishna Commission report without resorting to delaying tactics. ”The inordinate delay of Centre decision is mounting pressure on the Seemandhra leaders,” they said.

The TDP leaders alleged the Seemandhra people are facing serious problems in the state capital as pro-Telangana activists are resorting to attacks and threatening of serious consequences.

They called upon all Seemandhra TDP MLAs to attend the meeting and express their opinions.
