TDP MLA from Telangana region Revuri Prakash Reddy on Monday charged the Bharatiya Janata party of targeting his Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu ‘unnecessarily’ in order to protect its two seats in the state Assembly.

Speaking to media persons at the Assembly Media Point, Mr Prakash Reddy condemned the demand by the BJP asking Mr Naidu to make his stand clear on Telangana statehood issue. He stated that the BJP has no moral right to question Naidu’s commitment on Telangana state.

Mr Prakash Reddy charged the BJP of leveling false allegations against Mr Naidu and playing games on the Telangana state formation.

He extended support to Rail Roko agitation of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee on March 1. However, the TDP members would not support ransacking of public properties and causing damage, the MLA pointed out.

Mr Prakash Reddy warned that the TDP would stall the Assembly proceedings until the government introduces a resolution on Telangana state.

The TDP leader demanded that the Congress party stands by the announcement of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009 on Telangana and introduce a T Bill in Parliament immediately.

MLAs K Dayakar Reddy, Jaipal Yadav and others were present at the press conference.
