Telangana People’s Front Joint Action Committee convener Gajjela Kantham on Monday stated that his outfit would extend total support to former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s ‘Deeksha’ on fee reimbursement scheduled to be held on February 18.
Talking to media persons at Somajiguda Press Club, Mr Kantham charged the government of playing with students’ career by not releasing fee reimbursement arrears to private engineering colleges. The delay in releasing the arrears was putting the academic careers of the students at risk, he stated.
Mr Kantham further called on all students union leaders to participate widely in the Deeksha to mount pressure on the government so that the arrears can be released.
He said the Front would extend support to all agitations to be launched by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy for the cause of people’s welfare.
The TPFJAC convener added that the Front would intensify its agitation and would picket the state Assembly on February 24 if the government failed to release fee dues.
Reacting on the news of the Supreme Court taking a serious note over the delay in releasing fee reimbursements, Mr Kantham said the government should act in a responsible manner and protect the student interests by releasing the dues immediately.
