Sabitha likely to announce extra security measures

Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy is expected to make an announcement on a slew of measures to provide extra security so that all festivals would pass off peacefully in the state.

An indication to this effect came after she met a delegation of Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders who called on her at the state Secretariat on Thursday.

The VHP team, headed by its state unit president Ramaraju was assured by the Home Minister that she would issue instructions in this regard for smooth conduct of the festivals in a peaceful atmosphere.

Apart from law and order, the new measures are likely to embolden all concerned to celebrate festivals as desired.

The delegation leaders expressed confidence over her assurance.

The delegation members said that any such measures would facilitate people from all walks of life and religion to restore confidence in the government.

The leaders met a couple of scribes and expressed their opinion that police alert was essential on such occasions.
