Addressing the gathering of Editors of newspapers at Assembly Committee Hall, the Deputy Speaker said that permanent identity cards for journalists would be issued on the lines of MLAs to cover the Assembly proceedings.

He said the government would provide computers, fax machine, scanner and internet facility at Media Point on Assembly premises to journalists to cover the Assembly proceedings and file reports expeditiously.

Mr Manohar asked the scribes to utilize all the facilities and give a wide coverage to proceedings in the Legislature.

The Deputy Speaker said that 641 passes have been issued to journalists allowing them to make their way up to the Lobby Hall Entrance. This was off-bounds earlier for journalists.

He called upon all political party leaders to convene their press conferences at Assembly Legislature Party offices.
