Former chief minister Ys Rajasekhara Reddy’s brother and front-runner for a Ministerial berth YS Vivekananda Reddy has made his intention clear to bring about a patch-up between defiant young MP from Kadapa YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Speaking to media persons in New Delhi on Saturday, YSV specifically stated that he would meet Ms Sonia Gandhi accompanied by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and tender an apology to her for whatever happened. He however, did not say when the meeting will take place.

"In the near future I would see madam along with Jagan and express regrets for airing anti-Congress views on the Sakshi channel." YSV also stated that every Congressman was hurt by the programme which had accused the popularity of the High Command was ebbing.

"We have been associated with the Congress party for the past three decades," he said and added, "we have been living like a family. This is a small problem, and we will stay like a family," YSV reassured.

Obviously Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s uncle, YSV had gone to New Delhi at this juncture to strike a truce with Congress High Command over the recent Sakhshi channel's criticism against Ms Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He also made a specific comment that the family would work for strengthening the Congress party in the state and as part of this, it was seen that he was one of the strong contenders for a berth in the KKR Cabinet.

Asked whether the Congress Disciplinary Committee will serve a show cause notice to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy as contemplated, YSV parried the question and said that he did not say it but it was a media creation. Earlier in the day, Union Minister for Urban Development S Jaipal Reddy had expressed his resentment over the 'Sakshi' incident and said it was undesirable.
