HC gives nod to KKR's Cabinet

The decks have been cleared by the Congress High Command for the formation of the state Cabinet after it gave the go ahead to names proposed by Chief Minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy in New Delhi on Saturday.

According to sources, the High Command had agreed to the names proposed by the Chief Minister.

Sources further say that Rayalaseema leader and brother of former chief minister YS Vivekananda Reddy is one of the prominent names chosen to serve as a Minister in the new Cabinet.

The Chief Minister had earlier met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and other leaders on his arrival in the National Capital on Saturday morning. He had told media persons at the Delhi Airport that he was in the city to get his new Cabinet approved. He had also said that his team would provide a transparent and clean administration.

On his arrival at the National Capital, KKR met Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and then drove to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He thanked the Prime Minister and the High Command for considering him for the Chief Minister’s post and entrusting him with the responsibility.

KKR then met Ms Sonia Gandhi and thanked her for giving him to opportunity to become the Head of Government of Andhra Pradesh. He also briefed her about eh present political situation in the state.

Later KKR met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram at his Chambers and is believed to have discussed the present situation, especially regarding the separate Telangana statehood issue.

KKR is expected to return to Hyderabad on Saturday evening and announce the names of his Cabinet.
