Suspense mounts over Cabinet list

Who is the probable candidates for being included in Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy's Cabinet is the current topic and a focal point for hot discussion for all concerned including the Chief Minister himself.

More than 24 hours after the swearing-in ceremony of the state's new head of the government, replacing K Rosaiah at the instance of the High Command, the new Chief Minister is still vacillating in naming the full list of ministers. He is expected to divulge the details of his 'list' to the High Command when he reaches New Delhi.

The common man has been curious and on the other the administration is as anxious over the full-fledged government that will set the ball rolling. In the absence of a full-fledged government, even the state Secretariat presents a deserted picture except the police keeping a strict vigil.

Earlier, the Chief Minister met Governor ESL Narasimhan and what transpired between them remains unknown, apart from the little information through the sources. APCC president D Srinivas also met former chief minister K Rosaiah at the latter's residence and held discussions.

The next caller for Mr Rosaiah was KKR. He met the former chief at his Begumpet residence for over one hour. He is understood to have elicited information about the former's Cabinet colleagues and their performance.

In this background, there was a brisk activity at the Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s residence where as many as 17 legislators made a beeline. Prominent among them were Jupudi Krishna Rao, Pilli Subhaschandra Bose, Balineni Srinivias Reddy, Ambat Rambabu, Konda Surekha, Jayasudha.

What strategy has the Kadapa MP adopted, particularly in view of the High Command’s reported directive marginalise his followers remains to be seen. Some unconfirmed reports do not rule out a possibility of the Jagan-loyalists to rebel against the KKR government.

But these unconfirmed reports have come too early to be given much credence as some of the YSR's loyalists like Danam Nagender, Ponnala Lakshmiah, Bhatti Vikramarka, S Sailajanath, K Muralimohan have been sailing with KKR.

Meanwhile intense lobbying has been going on from every Congress leader worth his salt to get include in the 'Cabinet'. Who succeeds and who trails behind is a matter of time but the suspense generates lot of interest.
