An all-party delegation on Monday met Director General of Police K Aravinda Rao at his office and urged him to put off the written test proposed to be conducted for the recruitment of sub-inspector posts on December 18 and 19.

They also made it clear that they would not allow the police department to conduct the test on December 18 and 19 if the government does not makes its stand clear on free zone issue.

The delegation members stated the recruitment would curtail the chances of Telangana people if government did not make its stand on free zone issue.

The all-party leaders urged government to declare Hyderabad as no free zone in the assembly and conduct recruitment for posts and urged the government to remove clause 14(F) in the Presidential Orders and conduct the test for police recruitments.

The delegation comprised of Telugu Desam Party leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Ram Reddy, Damodar Reddy, Anil and Telangana Rashtra Samithi floor leader Etala Rajender.

The delegation members also alleged irregularities in the recruitments conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission.

The delegation said they would mount pressure on Centre to bring an Amendment to the Act in this regard.

Earlier, the leaders of the political parties met at Assembly Committee Hall to discuss on the issue.
