Telugu Desam Party leader U Venkateshwarulu stated that the meeting was held for name sake to appease the leaders even though the opposition favoured discussion on various subjects and burning issues. There were no proper replies regarding any issue or point raised by the opposition.

The Chief Minister gave no satisfactory replies to his questions about the remedial steps to be taken to avoid crop failure for the next Rabi season, Mr Venkateshwarulu said.

On the fertilisers front, the TDP leader said that he asked the government to spell out the system for operating the process, and added that there was no reply.

He accused the government of joining hands with the mixing plant proprietors to corner the farmers.

Mr Venkateshwarulu also wondered why the rice millers have given a notice to the government?

When he posed the query, Mr Rosaiah had brushed it off by saying that there was nothing new about it, Mr Venkateshwarulu stated.

He added that the meeting was of no consequence.

The TDP leader further added that when the opposition leaders warned that they would meet the Prime Minister on the issue, Mr Rosaiah brushed this off too by saying that, “everyone has his own way.”

BJP leader Kishan Reddy branded the replies as irresponsible and said that what the state was receiving in terms of help for more godowns etc, it was just an eye wash and the state was only begging the Centre.

While grains worth Rs 50,000 crore have gone waste, the government did not heed to turn a part of it to the welfare hostels, he said.

Mr Kishan Reddy added that the government was careless and has failed on all fronts.

TRS leader Etela Rajender charged the government of failing on all fronts and warned that the farmers will revolt against the rulers due to their inability to rule properly.

CPM leader BV Raghavulu alleged that though there was a bumper crop, farmers were at the receiving end.

CPI leader K Narayana accused the government for not paying bonus to farmers unlike Kerala which paid Rs 120 as bonus and demanded the same for AP farmers and also announcing the MSP.

Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan also flayed the state government for not responding to their queries.

Later, Ministers Vatti Vasanth Kumar, Raghuveera Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, at a joint press meet gave a rejoinder to what opposition said. The Ministers claimed that while the opposition was satisfied at the meeting, they presented a different picture before the media, condemning the government.
