Telugu Desam Party city unit president and former Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy blamed the mismanagement by the Congress government for the pathetic condition of the city’s infrastructure at a meeting in the Old City on Thursday.

Talking to media persons, Mr Krishna Reddy said that Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has failed to take care of Hyderabad City. The former mayor stated that the only success achieved by the Corporators was in hiking their remunerations, while shirking their responsibilities towards the people who had elected them in the first place.

Mr Krishna Reddy also demanded that the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and the Congress party to own up to the responsibility for their failure in maintaining the status of Clean and Green City, which it was at the time of the TDP regime’s rule.

He added that after the old city people’s representatives had joined hands with the ruling government, their failure to bring funds for the civic work and ensure even basic necessities to the people was appalling.

Mr Krishna Reddy dared any of the Corporators to refute his words that the city was in a pathetic condition as far as civic amenities are concerned.

TDP leader Ali Masquati pointed out that Chief Minister K Rosaiah had even once visited the Old City since taking charge while his party president N Chandrababu Naidu had visited the area a 71 times during his rule.

He further called on TDP activists to visit every door in old city and inquire about the problems faced by the people so that the party can solve them.
