Akkineni-Tokkineni comments that Natasimha Balakrishna made during the Veera Simha Reddy success celebrations created a huge controversy. While the supporters of Balakrishna said Balakrishna never meant to insult the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) and the words came out in flow, Akkineni supporters and diehard fans blasted Balakrishna for the insensitive and arrogant comments. They demanded an immediate apology from Balakrishna.

While King Nagarjuna, son of ANR maintained a dignified silence, his sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil said it wasn't expected from a person of the stature of Balakrishna. Balakrishna finally reacted to his controversial statements. He said, he revers ANR a lot and addressed him Babai. He said ' I fondly used to address ANR as Babai. The words I used were never meant to insult ANR but they came in a flow. In fact, ANR used to love him more than his sons. I learned not to be taken over by praises from ANR. NTR and ANR used to be two eyes of Tollywood. We honored the first NTR national award to ANR. If some people spread negativity and hatred over a few flow of words, I am not responsible for it.

But people are left wondering whether Balakrishna really apologises. Balakrishna did not backtrack or apologize but only showered praises on ANR and said that he is not responsible if someone twists his Akkineni-Tokkineni words and gives negative color to them. He only issued a clarification and ended it with a sheepish smile. This is once again resulting in another controversy.
