TG Government Orders To Pay 20 Percent Ticket Hike Revenue

Telangana government ordered 20 percent of extra ticket revenue from four films to welfare fund. Order dated August 18 2026 by Home Department directs Akhanda 2, The RajaSaab, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu and PEDDI producers to collect from exhibitors and deposit to TGFDC welfare account.
Affected producers are 14 Reels Plus LLP, People Media Factory, Shine Screens LLP and Vriddhi Cinemas LLP. They must remit full amount to Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation Welfare Account run by Telangana Film Development Corporation. Earlier GO between 2021 and 2026 on ticket rates referenced.
TGFDC manages welfare for cinema workers including technicians and daily wage staff. Government says ticket hike benefits must support industry employees. Collecting 20 percent on incremental revenue ensures sustainable fund. Officials stated compliance is mandatory as per existing welfare contribution guidelines issued earlier.
Ticket price hikes are key for big releases box office collections. New rule adds financial load on producers during release window. Industry bodies may seek clarity on calculation method.
