GV.Prakash Kumar bagging high profile projects in Telugu. Ace music director GV. Prakash Kumar is bagging high-profile projects in Telugu and is giving tough time to Telugu music composers.
He is scoring music for Ravi Teja’s Irumudi, Dulquer Salmaan’s Aakasam Lo Oka Tara, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Viswanath and Sons, and Anil Ravipudi’s upcoming entertainer.
A producer says “GV Prakash is set to give Telugu composers a run for their money," and adds “A few local composers seem to have become complacent, creating a vacuum that is now being filled by talented musicians from other industries.”
The producer adds, “He is back with a bang. Not one or two, but five Telugu films are currently in his hands, making him one of the busiest composers around.”
The producer adds, “Some filmmakers feel that the music of leading Telugu composers has become a bit repetitive in recent years. They were looking for fresh options, and GV Prakash arrived at the right time.”
Hemanth Madhukar, however, differs, saying, “Leading Telugu composers have earned their place through years of hard work and success. They will continue to enjoy strong support from audiences and filmmakers.”
He pointed out, “This is not a new trend. It began with legends like K.V. Mahadevan, while Ilaiyaraaja dominated Telugu music in the 1980s and 1990s. Yet composers such as Chakravarthy and Raj-Koti carved out their own space and enjoyed tremendous success. So, the idea that outside composers threaten local talent is more myth than reality."
