Madras High Court Gives Strong Piracy Shield To Peddi

Madras High Court has passed key anti-piracy orders for Ram Charan’s big film Peddi before release. The court said the movie must not be copied, streamed, or shared online without permission. This step was taken after the film’s production house filed a plea for copyright safety. The vacation bench heard the case and gave interim orders to stop any illegal upload of the film on websites or apps.
The court noted that a leak can cause huge money loss to the makers. To stop this, it granted a dynamic injunction for Peddi. This order helps block new links and mirror sites that may appear even after the main site is taken down. Internet service providers and social media platforms have been asked to act fast on piracy complaints.
The same kind of legal step has helped other large Tamil and Telugu films stay safe from early leaks. An anti-piracy injunction is a court order that protects a film or web series from illegal copy and upload. It allows quick action against piracy sites and Telegram groups that share leaked prints.
The film industry is now seeking such orders before release because online piracy hurts box office and OTT deals. With big titles facing leaks soon after release, the Peddi order sets a clear rule for future releases. The move shows courts are serious about saving producers from heavy loss due to online piracy.
