The 55th Kerala State Film Awards ceremony honored the best of Malayalam cinema, with Malayalam superstar Mammootty winning the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in Rahul Sadasivan's horror thriller 'Bramayugam'. The film 'Manjummel Boys' took home the top honor, winning Best Film and a total of 10 awards, including Best Director for Chidambaram.
Shamla Hamza won the Best Actress award for her impressive performance in Fasil Muhammed's 'Feminichi Fathima', which also earned the Best Debutant Director award for Fasil Muhammed and was chosen as the Second Best Film. Other notable winners include Soubin Shahir and Sidharth Bharathan, who shared the Best Character Actor (Male) award for their roles in 'Manjummel Boys' and 'Bramayugam', respectively.
The awards ceremony recognized excellence in various categories, with 'Manjummel Boys' winning awards for Best Sound Mixing, Sound Design, Best Art Direction, and Best Cinematography. 'Premalu' was chosen as the Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value, while Lijomol Jose won the Best Character Actor (Female) award for 'Nadanna Sambhavam'.
The jury panel, headed by Prakash Raj, comprised esteemed professionals from the film industry, including Ranjan Pramod, Jibu Jacob, and Santhosh Echikkanam. The panel evaluated 128 films, shortlisting 38 for the final round, from which the winners were selected.
