India sets challenging target for South Africa in World Cup 2025 finals

India lost the toss and South Africa invited Indian team to bat first. Shafali Varma who got lucky to enter into the World Cup team after the injury to Pratika Rawal, this time fired on all cylinders. She along with Smriti Mandhana stitched  a century partnership at 6 an over runrate and though Smriti got out for 45 (58), Shafali continued but holedout for 87 (78) when century was in for her taking due to a tired shot.

South Africa tightened the screws and when everything looked over 350 runs for India when Shafali got out at 166/2 in the 28th over, semi finals centurion Jemima Rodrigues and Captain Harmanpreet Singh got out cheaply along with Amanjot Kaur. However Richa Ghosh in the company of Deepthi Sharma used the long handle to score 34(24) ensuring India reach the 298/7.Deepthi Sharma scored 58(58) to steady the innings.

Among South African bowlers, Khaka 3 wickets while Mlaba,De Klerk and Tryon got one each. Now it all boils down to how, Indian bowlers contain and ensure India win the World Cup for the first time.
