Dhanush Directorial Venture Idli Kadai to Stream on Netflix

Dhanush's latest film, Idli Kadai / Idli Kottu, is set to premiere on Netflix on October 31, 2025, in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The comedy-drama, which released in theaters on October 1, 2025, features an ensemble cast, including Nithya Menen and Arun Vijay. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film has been praised for its heartfelt story and strong performances.

Idli Kadai has been a commercial success, earning ₹11 crore on its first day in India and grossing around ₹50 crore domestically within 18 days. Globally, the film has amassed approximately ₹71.32 crore, with an overseas collection of ₹12.5 crore. The rooted storyline and the Dhanush- Nitya Menen pairing have contributed to its appeal.

The movie tells the story of a rural man who moves to Dubai to chase his dreams but faces several challenges. Realizing the importance of his roots, he ultimately returns to his village. Dhanush, who directed and wrote the film, drew inspiration from his childhood experiences and the people who impacted him.
