Mythri Movie Makers on Ilayaraja copyright controversy over Ajith GBU. Mythri Movie Makers entered into Kollywood with Ajith's action entertainer Good Bad Ugly. The film had many fan moments and the makers used yesteryear hit songs of Ilayaraja.

Ilayaraja took a strong exception and approached court agains the same. Now, Mythri Movie Makers speaking to scribes, clarified on the entire controversy.

They said “We’re happy with the film. It turned out to be a big grosser for Ajith Kumar. We may not have made huge profits, but we didn’t lose money either. It gave us a strong entry into the Tamil market, and we plan to collaborate with Ajith again in the future.”

They added “We bought the rights for the songs from Sony Music, paying around ₹15–20 lakh per song. The dispute is between Ilayaraja and Sony Music. The songs have been temporarily replaced. The verdict is expected on October 16. We have all the legal documents and followed due procedure, so we cannot comment further while the case is ongoing.”
