Huge shock to Mohan Babu University. Mohan Babu always prides himself of being a philanthropist and educationalist and giving quality education to students irrespective of caste,creed and sex and also the financial status. Entire Manchu family got overjoyed when the Mohan Babu University attained the Deemed University Status.

But now, the university landed in a huge legal tangle. It is known that there were many complaints from the parents and students regarding exorbitant fees in the institutions. There were allegations that the university collected more than Rs 26.17 crs fees during the academic year 2022-2023. These complaints came out through AP Parents Association.

Following this, Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APHERMC)  conducted inquiry and found that large-scale financial irregularities happened and the university collected excess fees from the students.

APHERMC imposed fine on the Mohan Babu University and directed it to refund the excess amount to students within 15 days. It also directed the AP government to revoke the University's recognition in the wake of huge irregularities and financial violations and lack of transparency.

It also directed the Government to bring the institute under Sri Venkateswara University. Mohan Babu University approached the High Court regarding these directions and the hearing is posted on 14 October.
