Superstar Rajinikanth has confirmed that his highly anticipated film, Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, will hit theaters on June 12, 2026. The film is a sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which grossed over ₹600 crore worldwide. Rajinikanth shared the release date update while interacting with reporters at Chennai airport after wrapping up the Kerala schedule for the film.

The story follows Rajinikanth's character, 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, as he navigates new challenges. The cast includes returning actors like Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa, as well as new additions like SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Anna Rajan. The film also boasts cameos from Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal, reportedly with extended special appearances by Nandamuri Balakrishna and Mithun Chakraborty.
