Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi has announced her decision to quit social media, citing its detrimental effects on her creativity and mental well being. In a heartfelt note on Instagram, she expressed her desire to break free from the platform's influence and focus on her artistic pursuits. Aishwarya's decision comes after she realized that social media was dictating her thoughts and actions, rather than supporting her work.

Aishwarya Lekshmi explained that she initially believed social media was necessary to stay relevant in the industry. However, over time, she found it distracting and detrimental to her originality. "It has successfully distracted me from what my work & research should be. It has taken away every original thought from me, affected my vocabulary & language, and made every other simpler pleasure joyless," she confessed. By quitting social media, Aishwarya aims to protect her artistic integrity and preserve her individuality.

Aishwarya's decision to quit social media is also driven by her desire to avoid conforming to generic expectations. "I refuse to be one that's made from a generic mould and cater to the whims & fancies of a supernet," she stated. As a woman, she has worked hard to maintain control over her life and career, and she's determined to resist the influence of social media.

Despite quitting social media, Aishwarya Lekshmi hopes to create meaningful connections and produce impactful cinema in the future. "Here's hoping I create more meaningful connections & cinema in life".  Her upcoming films involve Gatta Kusthi 2 in Tamil, Aasha in Malayalam and Sambarala Yeti Gattu In Telugu.
