Kannada superstar Darshan and former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna skipped the 79th Independence Day celebrations at Bengaluru Central Prison, where they are currently lodged. Darshan was arrested on August 14 after the Supreme Court canceled his bail in connection with a fan murder case. Prajwal Revanna, grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, has been in prison for over a year and was recently convicted of obscene video and rape charges, sentenced to life imprisonment until death.

Sources indicate that both Darshan and Prajwal Revanna are experiencing depression and chose to stay in their barracks instead of participating in the celebrations. Darshan reportedly didn't sleep the entire night in prison. As remand prisoners, Darshan and his partner Pavitra Gowda have been assigned prisoner numbers 7314 and 7313, respectively. Interestingly, many fans got tattoos with Darshan's prisoner number during his previous arrest, sparking controversy.

Actress Ramya, who faced backlash from Darshan's fans for advocating justice for the deceased fan's family, expressed disappointment in Darshan's recent actions. "He had grown from a stage light boy to a star, but his recent conduct has disappointed me. He has spoiled his life," Ramya said. She emphasized the importance of accountability and good company in life, stating that Darshan could have moved forward with grace if he had better influences around him.

Ramya welcomed the judgment, saying it brings relief and sends a strong message about equality before the law. "Society is moving in the wrong direction, but this judgment will help society get back on the right track," she stressed. Renukaswamy's family, who hail from a humble background, have finally received justice through the Supreme Court's verdict, Ramya added.
