Actor Nani has denied allegations of plagiarism in his recent Telugu film HIT: The Third Case. Tamil writer Vimalavelan had filed a petition in the Madras High Court, claiming that the film's script was copied from his works, Agent 11 and Agent V. Nani's team has maintained that the script of HIT 3 is "entirely original and independently conceived."

Since Vimalavelan's works are in Tamil, Nani and other respondents have requested an official English translation of the script so they can respond effectively to the alleged similarities between both scripts. The language barrier has made it difficult for Nani's team to understand the claims of plagiarism. The affidavit also stated that the similarities pointed out by Vimalavelan are "standard tropes and recurring motifs" in the thriller, crime, and investigative genres.

Vimalavelan had alleged that he sent a synopsis of his script to Nani's email ID, which was mentioned on his Facebook page in 2022. However, the affidavit disputed this claim, stating that the email address is "not actively monitored for unsolicited creative submissions nor is it used as an official channel for receiving or reviewing story/scripts."

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 28. Nani's team is confident that the film's script is original and independently conceived. The film, directed by Sailesh Kolanu, is streaming on Netflix and has received positive reviews from audiences. The outcome of the case will determine whether Nani and his team will be able to move forward without any further controversy.
