Akshay Kumar Kesari 2 distorted facts conveniently. Bollywood Star Akshay Kumar known as Khiladi is known to churn out patriotic entertainers and cash in to the sentiments of the people to score hits. He recently came up with the film Kesari 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh  which got mixed reviews at the box office.

The makers claimed that the film is inspired by the real life incidents in the aftermath of the dastardly Jallianwalla Bagh incident and is based on the book  'The Case That Shook The Empire' by Pushpa Palat and Raghu Palat. To the top of it, they also added a disclaimer that the film is based on fiction.

Cinematic liberty is common in filmmaking but in the name of it, one shouldn't indulge in distortion of facts. They changed the freedom fighter Khudi Ram Bose and this would have hurt the Bengalis. After the Jallianwalla Bagh incident, owing to the huge anger, The British formed Hunter Commission to inquiry about the atrocities of General Dyer.

However, despite the Hunter Commission finding fault with General Dyer, The British Government did not take any action. Sankar Nair , a Malayalee lawyer resigned opposing the British and then went on to wrote a book in which he accused Michael O’Dwyer, then governor of Punjab, for the violence at Jallianwala Bagh. O’Dwyer filed a defamation suit, which was contested in England (Nair didn't defend himself, engaging a lawyer instead).

But the makers changed O'Dwyer name to General Dyer in the film Kesari 2 and showed Dyer (not O’Dwyer) are taken to court—in India—by Nair and fledgling lawyer Dilreet (Ananya Panday). The trial takes place in the immediate aftermath of the massacre. The presiding judge is one McCardie (Steven Hartley). Appearing for the Crown is Neville McKinley (R. Madhavan), a wily lawyer who resents Nair. Witnesses are called, including a belligerent Dyer.

Apart from it, showing Nair uttering F words in the court shocks all. Even MP Shashi Tharoor took exception of it. He said "He (C Sankaran Nair) was a man of courage, principle, and integrity. He would never use the words Akshay Kumar uses, particularly a certain four-letter word, would never have come out of him, I can tell you that for sure. But the spirit, the message, the clever way in which the message was allowed to come across was extremely well done."

Many felt all these distortions of facts and convenient cinematic liberties put off the viewers from Kesari 2.
