Born in 1960 in Elanthoor, Kerala, Mohanlal's early life was marked by his involvement in wrestling, where he even became the Kerala state champion in 1977-1978. His journey into acting began when his friends submitted his application for a film audition, leading to his debut in 1978 with Thiranottam.
