Hyderabad, Jan 9: Justifying the decisions he took in jacking up the bus fares, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation Managing Director Ssp Yadav met Chief Minister K Rosaiah, Chief Secretary S V S Prasad and explained as to why he raised the fares. The MD tried his best to convince the Chief Minister that the decision to hike bus fares was only to bail out the RTC from its present financial crisis.Denying reports that the bus fare was revised without informing the Chief Minister’s Office, the MD explained to the CM that the proposal for bus fare hike was sent to the Chief Minister’s Peshi.

Referring to the acceptance of the demands of the employees' unions, he said it was inevitable as they were bent upon going on with the strike.Regarding the alleged objectionable comments against the Chief Minister, Yadav told Rosaiah that he never made any adverse comments against him. It was a concocted story planted by a Telugu daily, the MD added.According to reliable sources, Yadav is likely to be eased out of the RTC. Orders to this effect might be issued soon striping him off the post of APSRTC Managing Director.
