8 Vasanthalu story revolves around the blossoming of love between youngsters and how it evolves as they mature with the passage of time.

Beautiful Shuddhi Arya( Ananthika Sanilkumar) , a young writer and martial arts expert, comes into contact with Varun ( Hanu Reddy) . Where their journey leads to and how Karthik ( Kanna Pasunoori), Anita( Sanjana Hardageri), Sanjay ( Ravi Duggirala) form the interesting part of the developments.

Ananthika Sanilkumar looked young and impressive on the screen. She made an impact with her screen presence with her expressions and emotions showing variations accordingly. She even enacted high octane stunts in martial arts.

Hanu Reddy impressed as a youthful and exuberant lad his antics connected chords with the viewers. He is good during the pre interval scenes.

Ravi Teja Duggirala attracts with his emotions during the pre climax and climax scenes.

Kanna Pasunoori performed well taking the narration forward. Sanjana Hardageri is good in the role of the female lead's friend.

Others performed according to their roles.

8 Vasanthalu story is penned by Phanindra Narsetti. He tried to come up with a youthful romantic entertainer with hard hitting dialogues to send a powerful message to the people in love and parents.

He starts the narration in an interesting manner introducing the female lead in a powerful manner. However from then on, the youthful and romantic elements and also the parents forcing their wishes and ideologies turned predictable and preachy.

These scenes turned the narration extremely slow and the only saving grace in the first half is the pre interval scenes in the run-up to the interval block which are loaded with hard hitting dialogues. The interval block sets the stage for the second half.

The start of the second half seems to be going nowhere with the female lead getting intense training in martial arts in the flashback. The narration takes a completely new turn with the director focusing on romantic elements and breakup, concentrating on highlighting the bond between teacher and disciple and a high octane fight. He tried to show the importance of moving ahead after the breakup.

Phanindra goes on and on with his narration and one gets a feeling where he is going and feels he lost the plot completely. However, He finally gets the story back on track during the pre-climax and climax.

For all the loopholes, Phanindra Narsetti showed the women characters in the most powerful manner and not like easy prey or vulnerable to men and can be taken for a ride. He showed that women when decided can take decisions in a strong manner and stick to it under any circumstances. He should be commended for such conviction and portrayal of women characters on the big screen.

Hesham Abdul Wahab's songs are situational and soulful. The songs are shot in a beautiful way. His background music added value to the film taking viewers into the story.

The Cinematography of Vishwanath Reddy beautified the film. He used camera angles to turn all the scenes visually appealing on the screen. He with his Cinematography captured the scenic locations in Ooty, Hyderabad, Kanyakumari, Kashmir, Varanasi and Agra in a natural and realistic manner.

Shashank Mali's editing could have been far better. There are many scenes that became repetitive and dragged the film's narration slowing it completely testing the patience of movie lovers.

Dialogues at times are gripping, thought provoking and hard hitting. Production values are grand.

8 Vasanthalu (2025) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, 8 Vasanthalu is an emotional romantic entertainer. Phanindra Narsetti tried to come up with a different love story. He emerged successful to some extent highlighting the developments and romantic feelings in the life of a young and brave woman and how she deals with the shocking and unexpected happenings.

He highlighted them with powerful dialogues and emotional scenes connecting chords with the movie lovers.

However, for all the efforts he came up with a predictable one with no real twists and turns. To the top of it, serial type scenes and show pace robbed the viewers of the cinematic experience. Few novel elements and interesting scenes in the script would have added value to the final output.

Phanindra Narsetti already went on record that his film has no commercial elements and he doesn't believe in them. One has to see how viewers at B,C centers receive the film minus commercial elements except for a couple of action blocks.

Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating to 8 Vasanthalu.
