Bigg Boss fame Amardeep Chowdhary is starring in the film titled Sumathi Sathakam. The film directed by MM.Nayudu big screen. Interest levels increased as Mythri Movie Makers decided to distribute the film. Let us see whether Amardeep Chowdhary managed to entertain movie lovers on the big screen or not.
Sumathi Sathakam revolves around a grocer whose romantic like hits a roadblock due to his superstitions. Krishna (Amardeep Chowdhary) who hails from Vaikunthapuram, West Godavari district loves marriages and from childhood dreams of getting married.
Finally, he happens to meet a beautiful Anganwadi teacher Sumathi (Sayili Chowdhary) and when he is all set to enter into wedlock and realise his dream, he comes to know about shocking truth about her. What is the shocking truth and what happens next form the interesting part.
Amardeep Chowdhary is good on the screen.Though he came up with energetic performance, he tried to imitate Raviteja. He lacked the basic expressions and this turned out tobe a drawback. Sayili Chowdhary looked gorgeous on the screen. Sayili also performed well coming up with good expressions. However, he failed to elevate the scenes where goddess takes possesion of her.
Others like Tasty Teja, Mahesh Vitta, JDV Prasad, Mirchi Kiran performed according to their roles but their humour didnot make a desired impact.
Sumathi Sathakam story is penned by Nayudu MM. He tried to entertain movie lovers with emotional romantic entertainer but with predictable story and slow screenplay, everything went awry. Right from the start till the finish, the pace of the narration is slow and interval twist generates little interest.
The so called intended comedy turned out to be just average. The weak conflict point acted in a negative maner. The second half is loaded with many unnecessary and unwanted scenes that tested the viewers patience. When the film finally came to an end, viewers heaved a sigh of relief.
Subhash Anand's tunes are just ok. His background music is according to the proceedings. The cinematography of Halesh is good and showed the locations in a beautiful and natural manner. Nahid Mohammad's editing left a lot to be desired. He left many unwanted and unnecessary scenes unattended to and this impacted the flow of the narration and its pace. Dialogues are just average and production values are good.
Altogether, Sumathi Sathakam turned out to be a regular love story. Director failed to come up with a strong conflict point and unable to overcome it, he included many unwanted scenes in the second half, disappointing all. The character arc of the protagonist is not elevated properly. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2 rating for Sumathi Sathakam.
