Subham story is written by Vasanth Mariganti. He came up with a simple story and tried to entertain viewers on how people are obsessed with TV serials. Apart from it, the story also has the hidden message on the relationship between husband and wife. Director Praveen Kandregula of Cinema Bandi fame, came up with racy screenplay and ensured that the viewers do not get bored or their patience get tested due to slow narration.
He starts the narration in a slow manner but once the main characters are introduced, he ensured that with situational comedy and hilarious scenes and apt dialogues, viewers will not feel irritated. The performances from the debutantes is the added advantage and no one tried to dominate others. The natural flow of the narration and conviction in direction ensured the first half sails off smoothly with a good interval bang.
The second half continues in the same way but after sometime, one gets a feeling that the director is overdoing with the serial scenes and he is losing his plot on how to comeout of it and bring the film to end. Some of the scenes and narration dragged a bit but the director Praveen Kandregula regained composure and though few scenes are illogical, he managed to end the film in a decent manner.
The songs tuned by Shor Police are situational and is in sync with the story. The good thing is the songs did not hamper the flow of the narration. Vivek Sagar elevated the scenes with his background music. He added value to the narration with his background music. Mridul Sujit Sen with his cinematography used camera angles in such a way that it gave natural feel to the viewers. He should the locations in a natural manner and took the viewers into the story. Editing of Dharmendra Kakarala is good. He ensured the narration flows smoothly and except for few drags, it did not impact the screenplay pace in any manner. Dialogues are not only natural but also hilarious. Samantha's Tralala Moving Pictures production values are good.
Altogether, Subham is an out and out hilarious entertainer. Praveen Kandregula though came with a simple story, filled the scenes with hilarious scenes and got the optimum out of the newcomers which is a great achievement. The screenplay is racy except for few dargs here and there. Samantha should be commended for believing in the story and proceeding ahead to present the project. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Subham.
