Story Review
Ravi (Arun Vijay) takes care of the well-being of his family which is influential and ensures that he thwarts all the threats from his opponents. His family comprises his parents' father (Rajesh) and Muthyalu (Radhika Sarathkumar), brothers Ramachandra (Samuthirakhani), and his niece (Ammu Abhirami). But things fall apart when his niece goes missing. Where this leads to and what is his connection to Jeba Mary (Priya Bhavani Shankar), Lingam (Ramachandra Raju), and Samuthiram (Jayapalan) should be unraveled on the big screen.
Artists, Technicians Review
Director Hari is known for his high-octane and intense action entertainers. His films are racy and this too followed the same template. But it seems Director Hari decided to give a breather to the viewers by toning down his racy screenplay a bit and including lot of hilarious scenes and emotional scenes. He ensured that the powerful dialogues delivered by the lead actors will not be overboard but will be delivered in a normal manner. The first half is racy and impactful and straight to the point. Coming into the second half, sentiments take the center stage and the slow pace of sentiment scenes impacted the racy narration. Even the comedy track acted as a deviation. Director Hari turned the weak and routine story into an interesting one with his screenplay and direction. For most of the time in the first half, he succeeded. However he lost steam in the second half and with routine elements, the interest among viewers evaporated.
Arjun Vijay performed well in his role. He maintained a slim and trim physique and showed powerful and intense emotions and expressions. He also did powerful stunts to thrill the masses. Radhika Sarathkumar played an impactful role as the mother and moved with her emotions. Samuthirakhani is fine in the role which offered nothing new. Priya Bhavani Shankar got limited scope to perform. Ammu Abhirami is good. Ramachandra Rao looked menacing on screen. Yogi Babu at times tried to evoke laughter with routine comedy.
GV. Prakash Kumar's couple of songs is mass-oriented and foot-tapping. He elevated the scenes with his background music. The cinematography of Gopinath is fine. The editing of Antony could have been better especially in the second half. Dialogues are powerful and at times sent a strong message to society. Production values are good.

Hari planned an emotional mass storm with Arun Vijay's Enugu. But the inconsistent screenplay and the weak conflict point spoiled the party. Enugu had all the elements for a powerful mass hit, but routine narration, illogical scenes, weak comedy, lack of powerful conflicts and the missing emotions impacted the film in a big way. Following all these developments, CJ goes with a 2.25 rating for Enugu.
