Andhra King Taluka story revolves around a youngster, who is a diehard fan of a top star and who goes all out for him and the developments in his personal life and how he reacts and deals with them and moves ahead.
Renowned Star Surya (Upendra) faces obstacles for his milestone 100th film as his last nine films turns out to be flops. Under these circumstances, he is forced to take a shocking decision. What is this decision, how Sagar (Ram Pothineni), his die hard fan react and what role his father Simhadri (Rao Ramesh), lover Mahalakshmi (Bhagyashree Borse), her father Purushottam (Murali Sharma) form rest of the developments.
Ram looked youthful and came up with energetic display on the screen. He showed good emotions and expressions and is impressive with his body language. He looked exuberant on the screen and at times expressed with his eyes. He danced energetically in songs and is good in action sequences. He delivered dialogues according to the situation.
Bhagyasri Borse looked good on the screen. She is fine with her performance but didn't get much scope to showcase her acting talent.
Upendra played an important role and his role took the narration forward. He showed his expertise and experience and came up with subtle expressions and emotions.
Rao Ramesh and Murali Sharma played the roles tailormade for them. Rao Ramesh is good in the role of hero's father and Murali Sharma's did the same accordingly.
Rahul Ramakrishna is good as his friend. He evoked few laughs with his performance. Satya also made his presence felt with his performance. Others like Tulasi, Sindhu Tolani, VTV. Ganesh performed according to their roles.
Andhra King Taluka story is written by Mahesh Babu.P and he tried to touch a different plot trying to highlight the feelings of a die hard fan towards his hero and how he deals with the challenges faced in his real life due to his hero worship.
He starts the narration in an interesting manner showing the developments in the life of the hero before coming to the flashback of the fan and the happenings in his life. However the scenes involving Ram gives us a routine feeling along with the love track. But few scenes like Ram drawing inspiration from his hero's Dialogues and also his friend giving him a reality check about his love before the first half ends on a monotonous but interesting challenge setting the tone for the second half. The scenes and narration in the first half treads at a snails pace.
The second half continuous in the same vein and it is loaded with many Predictable elements that end up testing the patience of the viewers. Hower few scenes connect chords with the movie lovers and makes a strong impact. The pre climax and climax comes with few interesting elements. For all the elements and scenes, the film missed the emotional connect. Mahesh Babu.P came up with an interesting story and decent narration but screenplay is ok. Dialogues are good and powerful at times.
The music of Vivek-Mervin is youthful. His songs are foottapping and had energetic beats. The songs are shot in a beautiful and visually appealing manner. He elevated the scenes to the next level with his background music. His background music added value to the storyline.
Siddharth Nuni with his cinematography gave an appealing experience to the viewers with his camera angles and colourful portrayal of the locations in a scenic and natural manner.
The editing of Sreeekar Prasad is ok but could have been better as there are many drags and scenes that impacted the flow of the narration. Production values are good.
Altogether, Andhra King Taluka turns out to be a decent entertainer. Ram is good with his performance and director Mahesh Babu tried to surprise viewers with a different plot. He starts the proceedings in an interesting way despite taking his own sweet time but from then on many monotonous and predictable elements crept in. The story suffers from missing emotions and this impacted the film's final result hugely. A little fine-tuning of the script, doing away with the routine elements, more powerful charcter arcs, turning the screenplay racy and interesting and high elements could have added value to the narration. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.75 rating for Andhra King Taluka.
