Amaravathiki Aahwanam story revolves around how a social media obsession of a young girl results in unexpected and terrific incidents. Bhargavi (Supritha) has fascination for YouTube videos and becomes popular with her ghost videos. She reaches Amaravathi along with her family, sister Bhanumati (Dhanya Balakrishna), her husband Easwar (Siva Kantamaneni), a suspended police officer.
However in Amaravathi, she experiences shocking incidents and where this leads to and what connection it got with Rajeshwari (Ester ) form the interesting part of the developments.
Siva Kantamaneni performed well in the role of the police officer. He added power to the narration with his intense performance. He made his presence felt in action sequence and showed variations in his mannerisms and expressions, body language and dialogue delivery.
Ester surprises all with her performance in the negative shades. Dhanya Balakrishna and Supritha did justice to their roles. Others like Gemini Suresh, Bhadram and Ashok Kumar did justice to their roles.
Amaravathiki Aahwanam story is penned by GVK. He came up with horror entertainer in the backdrop of family emotions and revenge drama. The horror elements in Amaravathi made an impact on the big screen and few twists generate curiosity among viewers.
Pre interval and the climax sequences stand out. But there are many scenes that turned repetitive and predictable dampening the spirits. Some scenes are predictable and the slow narration in the first half impacted the film. Supporting actors are not utilised to the fullest.
The cinematography of Prabhakar Reddy added value increasing the horror and thrill feel with the camera angles. Padmabhan Bharadwaj with his background score elevated the scenes. Sai Babu Talari's editing is ok but could have been better. Production values are decent.
Altogether, Amaravathiki Aahwanam is a decent horror thriller. GVK got the optimum from the actors and came up with good horror and thrilling elements in the story especially in the pre interval block and the climax. He came up with a good story and decent screenplay. However slow pace in the narration, predictable elements impacted the end result. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1.75 rating for Amaravathiki Aahwanam.
