Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Girirsh Kumar who is due to step down by August-end approached KVP Ramachandra Rao, Rajya Sabha MP seeking his support for extension.
Unconfirmed reports said the senior cop approached KVP and sought to enlist the support of the advisor to the Chief Minister for his extension.
The Rajya Sabha MP, instead of taking up his cause advised him to go on leave for the rest of the month.
A crestfallen Girish came back to his office but clearly is not going to oblige KVP by pushing off on leave.
