PDSU hold up traffic at Khammam

Khammam,Dec 4 (INN): Students led by Progressive Democratic Students Union on Friday staged a dharna and held up traffic protesting the government decision of close down all educational institutes except those in Telangana till December 18.The students raised slogans against Chief Minister K Rosaiah and blocked traffic at Mayuri Centre before burniong the effigy of the Chief Minister. Earlier, they took out a huge rally from Ramanarshaiah Vignana Kendram to Mayuri Centre via Cure Hospital,Sanjeeva Reddy Bhavan and Bus stand. Addressing the gathering, PDSU leader Pradeep Kumar demanded reopening of educational institutes in Telangana,closed on the instructions of Chief Minister Rosaiah.

“Although the educational institutes were closed by the Government,the agitation for Telangana statehood will not be stopped,” he said. Pradeep Kumar asked he Centre to introduce a bill in Parliament for separate Telangana.“We will intensify the agitation if the government reopens the educational institutes in Telangana,” he warned.He called all the students of Telangana regions to join the agitation.The police arrested several activists for disruppting the traffic at Mayuri Centre.
