Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Monday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 64th death anniversary.
After paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapughat in Langarhouz, they recalled his services for the nation and appealed to all people to follow his ideals to come up in their lives.
Ministers Mukhesh Goud, Danam Nagender, D Sridhar Babu, Vatti Vasanth Kumar and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain also participated in the programme. Later they took part in the all-religious prayer meeting and observed silence for two minutes.
Tributes were also paid to Mahatma Gandhi at a programme held at State Legislative Assembly premises. Speaker Nadendla Manohar and several ministers took part in the programme.
