The longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century will be sighted on Wednesday according to a press release here. This is a rare celestial event .
When the sun is completely obscured by moon a total eclipse occurs.
During the total eclipse, totality could be seen only from a narrow track on the surface of the earth.
The shadow of the total eclipse passes through a few cities in India namely Bhavnagar, Surat, Ujjain, Sagar, Jabalpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Gaya, Patna, Bhagalpur, Jalpaigudi, Guwahati and Dibrugarh.
