Finally the stage is set for the summit clash of T-20 World Cup Final at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
India will taken on New Zealand in the finals and history beckons Men in Blue. It is known that No team won the world cup twice, means the winners failed to defend their title. To the top of it, no team won the T-20 world cup in their own country. India is keen to rewrite history and the resolute New Zealand team stand as a rock between them and the coveted trophy.
This will be India’s fourth final in 10 editions of the T20 World Cup. They won the trophies at the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 and the 2024 edition, while finishing runners-up to Sri Lanka in 2014. New Zealand reached the final once but they were defeated by Australia in 2021.
India lead the head-to-head with 16 wins, while New Zealand have come out on top on 11 occasions. Three matches between these teams have ended in ties. But what counts the most is India have never beaten New Zealand in T20 World Cups, having lost all three encounters against the Black Caps in the history of the tournament.
Under these circumstances it has to be seen how Surya Kumar Yadav's team will overcome all the odds and fill the chunks in their armour to defeat New Zealand led by Mitchel Santner.
