Women In Blue created a sensation yesterday in Mumbai by winning the Womens World Cup 2025.
Harman Preet Kaur's team did entire nation proud by presenting Womens Team, the first world cup at Mumbai yesterday. Women In Blue came up with a breathtaking performance against the seven time champions Australia in the semifinals chasing more than 300 runs target and then in the finals, set a stiff target of around 300 runs and stifled South Africans and ensuring the victory by 52 runs.
Indian men won three world cups and the first one happened in Lords against the Mighty West Indies, the two time champions and the most fearful at that time with Kapil Dev's team stunning all in the finals even when they got bundled out for 183 and then fighting out and shocking West Indies by turning screws on them by making them all out for 140 runs.
Then Dhoni won two world cups. He gave the first world cup to India in form of the Inaugural T-20 worldcup in South Africa in 2007. India won by 5 runs against Pakistan. Then again in 2011, Dhoni's men in blue won the 50 overs world cup in Mumbai against Sri Lanka.
While Sri Lanka scored 274/6, Dhoni's men in blue reached the target 277/4. Amongst all the wins, Kapil Dev's sensational win against the mighty West Indies in Lords in 1983 stands out tall. This because India entered the tournament as the underdogs and defeated the dreaded West Indies in the foreign soil where the conditions are alien to the home conditions in India.
Similarly Dhoni's T-20 world cup win in South Africa also stands out next as it came in the foreign soil where the conditions are alien and different from those in India. Then comes Women In Blue's first world cup win against South Africa in Mumbai as they fought spiritedly and this win inspires many women to take up the sport.
