Victory Venkatesh is known for his entertaining family flicks. After creating a laughing riot with F2 (Fun & Frustration) early this year, he is getting ready to entertain movie lovers once again turning Venky Mama along with his nephew Naga Chaitanya at the end of the year.
With Venky Mama releasing on Dec 13, speaking to scribes, Venkatesh shared many personal and professional secrets.
About Venky Mama and Chaitu
Venky Mama is a blend of emotions and entertainment and offers a real treat to the viewers. Chaitu addresses me as Mama and so it's fun sharing screen space with him.
He grew up in front of me like my son and we are alike, quiet and talk only when needed. Chaitu is disciplined, sincere and minds his own business.
Venky Mama and Delay
The film got delayed as I got injured during a song shoot. Since we couldn't take the risk, the film got delayed. Even I had no clue about the release date till the last moment. This because I do not interfere with my films and get detached once I wrap up the project. It's like exit and accepts. If you do not follow this policy, you tend to bother about the result.
Venky's toughest shoot
Once we shot in Jammu and Kashmir and I had to walk for hours to walk to the top of a glacier. The place was chosen as it is beautified with snow.
On Celebrating Success
I own only one percent of my success and the rest belongs to the entire team.
Remakes and Doubts
Whenever I chose to do a remake, people doubt my abilities. Remakes played a prominent role in the film success and coming to Asuran remake, I decided to do the film after watching the film for half an hour. I do not mind doing a remake if a great character comes to me.
Coming to De De Pyar De remake, we dropped the idea as the script required a lot of changes.
From Cricket to Basketball
I am a diehard cricket fan but recently happened to watch a basketball match between Lakers vs Toronto sitting in the front row during my US visit. The match was so exciting that I was jumping like a kid. Now I am watching the game whenever live telecast happens. I can enjoy watching the game the entire day on TV.
